Door alert service for senior living

Every knock at your door, answered.

KnockBot is a phone number posted at your entrance. Couriers, pharmacies, and after-hours visitors call it — and every staff device in your building alerts until someone acknowledges. Nothing to install for visitors. Every response logged.

The after-hours problem

Your team isn't ignoring the door. They just can't hear it.

After hours there's no front desk. Your staff are on the floors — helping someone to bed, answering a pull cord, doing rounds. At the door: a locked entryway, a posted number that rings out or gets rejected, a doorbell that doesn't work or goes ignored.

So medications sit unattended at the door. Couriers give up and leave. Families hear about it. And when someone asks what happened at the door that night, there's no record to point to.

08:23 PM · FRONT ENTRANCE

A courier has been standing at your door for thirty minutes. They've rung the bell, called every number on the sign, and knocked until their knuckles hurt.

Inside, your overnight staff are three hallways away doing exactly what they should be doing — caring for residents. They have no idea anyone's there.

Tonight, the medication gets left in the entryway. No signature, no handoff, no chain of custody — and nobody inside knows a resident's dose is sitting at the door.

How it works

One number on the door. Every device in the building.

STEP 01

The visitor calls

Anyone who needs to be inside after hours — a courier, an on-call nurse, hospice, a family member. The number is on the sign. There's nothing to download and nothing to sign up for.

STEP 02

A recording confirms

An automated greeting answers and asks the caller to press 1 to alert staff — so robocalls and pocket dials never wake your building.

STEP 03

Every device sounds off

A priority alert fires on every staff device at once and repeats until someone responds. The first tap to acknowledge claims it and quiets the rest.

STEP 04

No response? It escalates

If nobody acknowledges within two minutes, the alert fires again and the miss is flagged in your log — so nothing slips by silently.

Runs on the Android devices your team already carries. We install and configure everything on-site — the number, the alerts, the signage. Your staff's only job is to tap Acknowledge and walk to the door.

What your staff sees

Impossible to miss. Effortless to answer.

Priority alerts cut through. They sound even in quiet hours, and keep repeating until a person responds — not a voicemail box.
First tap wins. One acknowledgment silences every other device, so your whole team isn't chasing the same knock.
Personal phones only by choice. Alerts go to facility devices by default — staff never give out their numbers, and nothing follows them home. If your community wants alerts on personal phones too, we can set that up.
The response log

When a family member asks what happened, you have an answer.

Every call, every alert, every acknowledgment — timestamped automatically. A monthly report lands in your inbox showing exactly how fast your community answers its door.

Jul 1203:37 AMCall — front entrance · escalated, then acknowledged2 min 41 sec
Jul 1401:05 AMCall — front entrance · acknowledged39 sec

Directors use the report two ways: as a coaching tool for overnight teams, and as documentation when a question comes up about a delivery, a visitor, or a night at the door.

Driving a route? This part's for you.

There's no app, no account, and nothing to learn. Call the number on the sign, press 1, and someone's coming to the door. That's it — from one night driver to another.

Common questions

Straight answers.

Do my staff need to install anything on their phones?

No. Alerts go to your facility's shared Android devices — the ones your team already carries. We set those up during installation. Personal phones stay out of it unless your community asks to include them.

Which delivery companies does it work with?

All of them, immediately. Because the trigger is just a phone number on your door, it works for every courier, pharmacy, lab, family member, and home-health visitor — with zero onboarding on their side.

Is this an emergency or nurse call system?

No. KnockBot is a door notification service, not a life-safety, nurse call, or emergency response system, and it's not a substitute for 911. It has one job: making sure a person at your door reaches a person inside.

What does setup involve on our end?

About an afternoon. We provision your number, configure your devices, mount the signage, and walk your team through it — usually in under 15 minutes of staff time. Your building needs working Wi-Fi for the devices; that's it.
