Overview
This Privacy Policy describes how L&MC Innovative Ventures Ltd Co ("we," "us," or "our"), operating the KnockBot service at knockbot.net, collects, uses, and protects personal information.
KnockBot is a door alert service for residential care communities. Each subscribing facility receives a dedicated local phone number posted on signage at its entrance. When a visitor calls or texts that number, KnockBot delivers an alert to the facility's staff devices and records the event for the facility's response reporting.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Ever.
Who This Policy Covers
- Visitors who call a KnockBot door line — typically delivery drivers, pharmacy couriers, or after-hours visitors at a subscribing facility's entrance.
- Announcement subscribers — residents, family members, and staff who have personally opted in to a community's optional text announcement program.
- Facility customers — the communities that subscribe to KnockBot, and the individual administrators who manage their account with us.
- Website visitors — people who browse knockbot.net or submit our contact form.
Facility staff members who receive alerts do so through the Pushover application on facility-owned devices. KnockBot does not collect staff members' personal phone numbers and does not send SMS messages to staff.
Information We Collect
- Caller phone numbers, with timestamps — generated automatically when a visitor calls a KnockBot door line. Used to deliver the alert and produce response-time reports for the subscribing facility.
- Announcement subscriber numbers — collected only when an individual personally opts in to a community's announcement program, by texting JOIN or completing an opt-in form. Used solely to deliver that community's announcements.
- Inbound keyword messages — JOIN, STOP, and HELP texts, processed automatically to manage subscription status.
- Alert and acknowledgment records — which facility device acknowledged an alert and when. These records identify devices, not individuals.
- Facility account information — business contact details for the facility and its designated administrators: name, work email, work phone, and billing information.
- Contact form submissions — name, facility, email, phone, and message content submitted through knockbot.net.
We do not record phone calls. We do not collect government-issued identification or any category of sensitive personal data. We do not knowingly collect resident health information; KnockBot alerts contain no resident names or medical details.
How We Use Information
- To deliver door alerts to the subscribing facility's staff devices when a visitor calls or texts
- To deliver opt-in community announcements on behalf of communities that enable the announcements add-on, and to manage subscription status
- To produce response-time logs and monthly reports for the subscribing facility
- To operate, support, and bill facility accounts
- To respond to inquiries submitted through our website
We do not use any information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to operating the KnockBot service.
SMS Disclosure
The KnockBot door alert line is voice-only and sends no text messages. Separately, communities may offer an optional Community Announcements program: occasional text updates sent only to individuals who have personally opted in by texting JOIN or completing an opt-in form. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe at any time; reply HELP for assistance. Data Sharing
We share data only as needed to operate the service:
- The subscribing facility — call/text events at a facility's number, including the visitor's phone number, timestamps, and staff response times, are shared with that facility as part of its logs and reports.
- Twilio — our telephony provider. Inbound calls and texts to KnockBot numbers pass through Twilio's infrastructure and are subject to Twilio's own privacy practices.
- Pushover — our push-notification provider. Alert delivery uses device application tokens only; no visitor phone numbers are transmitted to Pushover.
- Netlify — hosts our website and processes contact form submissions.
- Legal requirements — we may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
Data Retention
- Call event records are retained for up to 24 months to support facility response reporting, then deleted.
- Announcement subscriber numbers are retained for as long as the individual remains opted in, and removed upon unsubscribe.
- SMS suppression records (STOP requests) are retained indefinitely to ensure opt-outs are honored.
- Facility account data is retained for the life of the subscription and for as long as required for tax and accounting purposes afterward.

Security
All data in transit is protected with HTTPS/TLS. Telephony and messaging are handled on Twilio's secured infrastructure, alert delivery on Pushover's. Access to event logs is restricted to KnockBot administration and to the subscribing facility's own records.

- Request deletion of your data
- Unsubscribe from announcements at any time by replying STOP

Children's Privacy
KnockBot is a business service not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
